Tomomi Austin-Bailey

Where did you train to be an osteopath?

I trained at the London School of Osteopathy, where I completed an integrated master’s degree.

Why did you decide to become an osteopath?

After two motorbike accidents, I experienced chronic headaches, dizziness, nausea, and nerve pain. Manual therapy played a transformative role in my recovery, restoring my wellbeing and giving me hope, an experience that inspired me to help others in the same way.

What is your treatment style like?

My approach is primarily structural, combining both direct and indirect techniques such as joint mobilisation, articulation, and soft tissue manipulation, including fascial release. I also enjoy encouraging and empowering patients through tailored exercises and lifestyle advice, helping them stay active and reduce the risk of future injury. My aim is to support each person’s journey towards better function, balance, and long-term wellbeing.

Name a fun fact someone might not know about you?

I am a naturally curious and active person who loves exploring new activities and challenges. I enjoy playing a variety of sports, especially tennis, skiing, snowboarding and snorkelling, and my current challenge is learning to play golf. Another goal of mine is to learn how to sew and knit in the future!

What do you do to relax?

I enjoy jogging, relaxing at a spa, and walking my dog, Roly the pug *.

Favourite movie?

Love Actually, The Devil Wears Prada, and Whiplash.

Favourite travel destination?

I love Italy — for its food and scenery, and of course, my home country, Japan!

What is one of your favourite quotes?

“Whatever will be, will be.”
